Garden weeds: Food, medicine & fertiliser

Wednesday, July 3, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm

FREE PLACES AVAILABLE FOR ELL VOLUNTEERS

Most of the weeds that seem to drive gardeners crazy are, in actuality, fantastic plants with a multitude of uses - from food and medicine to important allies in combating pests and diseases in the garden.

In this session, we’ll discuss how to utilise these wonderful resources that pop up in our gardens rather than treating them as a useless nuisance.

It will include :

  • an overview of edible (and delicious) weeds
  • herbal teas and tonics you can make from plants growing in your garden
  • the ones to watch out for and avoid
  • how to use weeds to make plant feeds and disease control preparations for your plants
  • useful tips for composting weeds
