Most of the weeds that seem to drive gardeners crazy are, in actuality, fantastic plants with a multitude of uses - from food and medicine to important allies in combating pests and diseases in the garden.

In this session, we’ll discuss how to utilise these wonderful resources that pop up in our gardens rather than treating them as a useless nuisance.

The science behind gardening is not only fascinating, but understanding it can also help us to support our plants in growing healthier and more productive.

In this session, we will explore the functions of different plant parts and how they relate to good gardening practices; look at what botanical names can tell us; and learn to identify different plant families and how that can help us as growers and foragers. Be prepared for a fair deal of mind-boggling plant geekery as well as hands-on plant examination.
